The Kirloskar Vasundhara international film festival

A Kirloskar and Vasundhara Club initiative, Kirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival (KVIFF) is an festival that is being organized for the past 5 years in Pune. Kirloskar Vasundhara is an innovative attempt to explore nature and analyze topical issues related to environment, wildlife, energy, air and water.

About the fest

The festival showcases a variety of films each year. It includes short films, feature films and documentaries from 25 different countries.The festival has been organised in association with non-governmental organisations Pugmarks and Go Wild, the state forest department and Sanctuary Asia. The festival will subsequently travel to 25 cities in seven states.

This year KVIFF is planning to screen more than 110 films on different topics such as saving biodiversity, Indian vista, wild life, space, ocean, water, habitat, protected areas, issue based, climate change and wild life.

Focus: This year's focus will be 'Sustainable Lifestyle'. Need to preserve, protect, save biodiversity of globe, India, Western Ghats, Maharashtra & Pune

Allied activities

Nature and heritage walk : Delegates will visit daily the local well-known places and will have an opportunity to get the valuable information about trees, birds, mammals, flowers, historical structures etc.
Photography exhibition: Sanctuary Asia’s world class photographs and 'Sakal reflections 12 photo exhibition' will be the special attraction of the festival
Eco friendly products exhibition: This year, we are planning to organize an exhibition of eco friendly products.
Audio-visual lectures: Special audio-visual lectures will be arranged during the festival. Current issues will be focused.
Book & CD exhibition: Thousands of books related to environment, wildlife, energy, air, water of different languages will be exhibited.
Registration form: Each and every delegate will sign a registration form, which consists of vasundhara slogan and idea. The delegates will have to write a 20 words slogan and Idea. The best 5 slogans and ideas will be awarded.
Commitment tree: One tree in the campus will be marked as 'Commitment tree'. This tree will be decorated and lighted where delegates will pin up the slogans.
Hasat khelat paryawaran : Daily two hours children workshop will be conducted. Children from 15 schools will participate. Well known artists will conduct the work shop.
Collegians ‘Be Positive - Pune Green Conference’: 'Young green conference on punes environmental issues' will be organized during the festival. About 500 collegians from various colleges will take active part and green resolutions will be published.
Workshops: Various workshops will be conducted for children, women, citizens, filmmakers and photographers
Authors meet: Authors, journalists, reporters and publishers also from the fields of environment, air, energy, water, and wildlife will be invited for the 'Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad’s author's meet'. Idea is to generate good co-ordination among them and formulate green resolutions.
Cultural Programmes : Cultural programmes will be the main point of attraction for the audience. In addition to routine activities we will arrange different activities like, open forum on disputed issues, children activities, choreography based programmes, multimedia show, eco friendly fashion show, etc.
