Challenges and best practices in operational roll-out of utility PPPs
About I-U-KAN
India Utilities Knowledge and Networking initiative from pManifold intends to bring together various stakeholders from the utilities industry in India for collaboration and innovation via sharing of knowledge and connecting with each other.
Background
Compared to telecom, our water and power distribution utilities are very early into the privatization game, with handful of PPP realizations, and mixed results in last few years. This utility PPP sector is fast emerging with positive traction from all stakeholders, and it is estimated that we have barely touched even 1% of the potential market size.
Objective
IUKAN 2013 conference intends to take a closer operational look for improved service delivery & viability of the Utility PPPs especially in Power and water distribution space. The conference will engage utility stakeholders on operational topics relating to employees, customers, vendors & investors.
The conference will see about 200 odd business and functional leaders in the Power and Water space and is probably the one-of-its-kind, multi-stakeholder conference to focus on operational & service delivery improvement aspects of the PPP models and how they can be shaped by regulator, employee, vendor, customer and investor perspectives and collaborations.
Focused sessions
- Baseline and PPP Contract Design improvements
- Improving service delivery through process improvements and employee engagement
- Engaging customers continuously to expedite loss reduction
- Partnering with vendors to raise managed services models
- Enhancing confidence in Investors and raising finances
The conference is designed to be useful for all relevant Stakeholders to learn and teach for furthering scale-up of new PPPs (24×7 water and power distribution franchisee)
