Co-organised with BORDA, CDD, NEERI,  the Indian Water Works Association (IWWA) and the Indian Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD); the fourth of the IWA’s Conference on DEWATS in Asia series aims to continue the key discussions raised at the previous conferences to build capacity and awareness of DEWATS as a viable sanitation option for countries in Asia.

Description:
The objective of the Conference is to build capacity and awareness of DEWATS as a viable sanitation option for countries in Asia to enhance sanitation coverage and service delivery in the urban environment and provide a cost-effective means for treating wastewater. It will focus on :

  • Sustainable technical options
  • Management options and the roles of various stakeholders
  • Enabling institutional and regulatory frameworks for the effective implementation and scaling-up of decentralised systems.

Abstract submission closes: May 20, 2012

Authors notified of selection: July 1, 2012
 
Submission of full papers: September 1, 2012
 
Commencement of Conference registration: August 15, 2012

Procedure for submission of Abstract:
 
Abstracts will be accepted for oral and poster presentations, and shall be limited  to a maximum of two A4 pages (including ­figures and tables). The abstract has to contain adequate information to allow a sound review, including;-

  • A demonstration of the system implementation
  • Effectiveness and sustainability
  • Supporting statistical figures
  • Learning points for future applications
