Description:
The 7th Vacation Training Program on Bio-Resources will be conducted by Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bangalore during the summer of 2012. This programme is funded by the National Bio-Resource Development Board, Department of Bio-Technology, Government of India.

We invite applications from interested Class X candidates for the programme.

Eligibility

• Students should have appeared in Class X examination in 2012 from recognized schools in Karnataka
• Most activities involve spending time outdoors. Students should be physically fit and willing to take up such activities.
• Proven interest in nature conservation will be an added advantage

Course structure:
Lectures by eminent scientists and experts in the field of biology and bio-resources, visits to research institutes, orientation skills for field-biology, out-door camps, etc will be conducted.

Application procedure:
Interested candidates may send the following to the Programme Coordinator:

1. A certified copy of class IX final marks-sheet
2. Other relevant certificates, if any.

Course fee:
Rs 1000/- (One thousand only) which includes course material, food, transport and accommodation during out-station camps.

Note: Fees can be waived in case of participants from low-income backgrounds.

Last date to apply: April 25, 2012

Short listed candidates will be intimated by April 30, 2012

Note: Hostel facilities cannot be provided during the entire course. Candidates should make their own arrangements for their stay in Bangalore. However, accommodation will be taken care of accommodation in outstation camps.
