The various initiatives taken up include installing a fin-fan heat exchanger, rain water harvesting, increasing cycles of concentration in cooling towers, pumping seepage water, cascading use of water, zero waste water discharge and more.

As a result of these efforts, the specific water consumption reduced by over 15%.

This work won the CII-GBC National Award (Within the Fence Category) for Excellence in Water Management in 2008.
