Ever since India Water Portal was released in Kannada, Portal team has been working towards building a community around this language portal. We have teamed up with Sampada Foundation to augment the effort. One of our main intiatives has been organizing offline events at various parts of Karnataka. Offline events are aimed at spreading awareness about water, training participants on the the use of simple web technologies, and providing a platform for local people to come up with context specific content. The first such event was conducted in October at Hubli (More details on the event). Considering the positive impact the event had on the people and the portal, this month we are organizing a similar even in Mangalore.
