National summit and exhibition on water, wastewater treatment and solid waste management

What: Watewater management has assumed heightened significance in the recent past due to the growing menace of pollution and the increased awareness among the stakeholders as well as the general public.

The summit, to be attended by civic authorities and technology specialists, is expected take the debate over sustainability into the corporate arena to convince private management as well as government authorities to adopt green technologies and long-term sustainable strategies for economic growth.

The summit will provide an overview of the Indian Government’s recent environment-focused schemes including the Clean Ganga project, Swachh Bharat mission and urban solid waste management programmes. Indian technology companies are expected to be present to showcase cost-effective sustainable solutions.

Who's going: A speaker panel comprising of top officials from Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Ministry of Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation, Delhi Jal Board among other government and environment bodies will address vital issues aimed at mitigating India’s waste and wastewater concerns.

Who's organizing: The event is part of Messe Frankfurt’s portfolio of environment technology fairs and is being strongly supported by Central Pollution Control Board, UN Habitat, the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), International Institute Of Waste Management,  Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council India, National Small Industries Corporation, International Institute for Sustainable Development, Carbon Minus India, Society of Energy Engineers Managers India, National Solid Waste Association of India as well as East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC), Municipal Corporation Kanpur and Municipal Corporation Ludhiana.
