Guest Post by: Sangeeta Deogawanka header3.jpg The forum of Indian Youth working for climate change, the IYCN (Indian Youth Climate Network), barely a year old, has been actively working to spread the message of how climate change is affecting lives. A rapidly growing coalition uniting Indian youth and Indian youth organizations concerned about climate change, the IYCN members are perhaps the future leaders of the country who will establish a consensus on the role India will play in the global debate, and address domestic issues of climate adaptation. Under its programme Agents of Change, IYCN will represent the youth of India at the 14th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (The COP 14), in Poznań, Poland, from 1st to 12th December, 2008. For the first time ever, a 19-member youth delegation from India shall put forth its own viewpoint at an international climate conference. It will work towards negotiating a new framework to replace the Kyoto Protocol, which lapses in 2012. The key policy issues discussed at the Indian Youth Summit on Climate Change in Hyderabad in August, 2008 will be taken up. As part of this landmark project, the Agents of Change are keen to have the perceptions of the Indian public on this issue before the event in Poland, for an accurate presentation. Please visit the link and fill out the "Access Climate Survey", which shall collectively represent the voice of India.
