As you are aware of the fact that the Government has constituted an inspecting body comprising of high authority personnel’s of Central Water Commission, Planning Commission, Haryana Irrigation Department, Delhi Jal Board, Ministry of Environment and Forests and 6 members of Yamuna Bachao Aandolan. The team will then submit its report to the Central Government within one week and forthcoming plans will be discussed then.

The team had visited the Hathinikund barrage and told that it was a complete failure as the water is not at all being released from Hathinikund barrage. They came to know about the matter after enquiring with local public. The imposter authorities had released the said amount (160 cusecs) of water. The local public there told that they are habitual of crossing the Yamuna by riding on their bikes as it remains completely dry, but the water has been released.

On this scene, Sh. Bhanu Pratap Singh, President of Bhartiye Kisan Union (BHANU), said “The government is just imposing fake fully and acting for self-seeking benefits. The higher authorities are corrupt and have been seduced by the prospect of gain. A long time of farmers’ and sadhus’ for approximately 60 days, the fast-unto-death, or be the 13 days protest at Jantar-Mantar, nothing could leaven the absolutist government. If the water would have been released a few days back, it would have reached Mathura till now, but alas, the government is deaf.”

He carried on by addressing the government “Release Water! Release Water! Else it would be considered as injustice to farmers, sadhu-saints and people of Mathura. This will never be stood by. The other demands of declaring Yamuna as National River, etc. can be taken thereafter, but the main demand of having adequate flow of water throughout the river bed should be implemented immediately anyhow. All the intellectualists, socialists, people from every caste and creed, businessmen, professionals, advocates, etc. are supporting our movement of simply having Yamuna’s water in Yamuna. We are going to call for a farmers’ Mahapanchayat on 1st of May at Jantar Mantar itself wherein farmers from various regions of the country would come and participate in the great movement. Thus, we are again giving you an ultimatum of releasing the water so that it reaches Mathura till 1st of May.”

The protesting farmers and sadhus told that our only motive is to have minimum water flow throughout Yamuna so that its ecology can be maintained. An immediate meeting with Supreme Court’s constituted HPC has been demanded. They also told that the commands of releasing the prescribed adequate amount of water in Yamuna should be passed to the respective states with no delay.

Shocked by the present condition, a big crowd of people from Mumbai are also participating and are planning to send approximately one lakh signed letters to the Prime Minister and the President of India in the lieu of saving Yamuna River.
You are therefore requested to jot down the clear picture in front of the public as the revolution of cleaning Yamuna is just to begin.
