Biogas driven irrigation pump: A video case study from Gujarat

This video showcases a dynamic and innovative farmer, Purushottam bhai Patel, from Gujarat, who operates his diesel pump with biogas, saving Rs 50 per hour in fuel cost. His cows provide the dung for this engine that runs daily for about 8 to 10 hours. The leftover slurry is used as manure for fields. He also manages to enhance his income by providing irrigation services to clients for a fixed sum. This novel idea is a win win situation for farmers with livestock, living in areas where electricity is still erratic.
