This handbook published by Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association (BORDA) is an outcome of a project titled “Low Maintenance Wastewater Treatment Systems - LOMWATS; Development of Technologies and Dissemination Strategies.” The project had been financed by the Commission of the European Union, with substantial contribution by the State Office for Development Co-operation of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen from October 1994 until April 1998.
This book aims at a target group, which is typical for decentralised technology implementation and consists of people who are aware of the general problem and know something about possible solutions.
