Need infomation regarding dye-works and river water pollution in Tirupur in Tamil Nadu

(Query received over email from H.T. PARK, KBS TV)

Greetings,

I kindly request you to provide me some information regarding Tirupur.

Farmers who live in Tirupur gave up and they changed their vocation to sell water for the dye-works (factory near Tirupur). So there was some dispute on the water in 2003.

  1. We heard that there was an order from the court to close up the dye-works in 2011.
What is story in Tirupur nowadays?

  2. Are dye-works still working?

  3. What is the level of water pollution of the river near Tirupur?

  4. How is the situation of damage which the people suffer by the river water pollution?
  5.
Are there many traders who are selling water to the dye-works in Tirupur area?

I am waiting for your precious reply.

Thanks and best regards,
