In our apartment, we have a borewell around 250 to 300 ft deep. Recently, the borewell pump was not working and we tried to pull the pump out but was unable to pull it out. We called the borewell people, who tried to pull the pump using chain pulley and cable rope through the PVC pipe. Despite their efforts they were able to only remove the pipe and cable and now the pump is stuck at the bottom. Now my question is that:

1. Can we remove the pump with any other method.

2. If not, then can we install a new pump above the old pump.

Please advise.
