The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, formerly under the Ministry of Rural Development as Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation. The Accelerated Rural Water Supply Programme (ARWSP) was the first major intervention in the water sector that started in 1972-1973. To accelerate coverage, a Technology Mission on Drinking Water was launched in 1986.

Job Profile
Officers under the Central or State Government or Union Territories or Autonomous bodies or Public Sector Undertakings, or Statutor Organizations or Universities or Recognized Research Institutes:

• Holding analogus posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department or
• With five years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereof on an regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs. 10,000 -15,200 (pre-revised) or equivalent in the parent cadre

Qualification

• Degree in Civil Engineering of a recoginzed University or Institute or equivalent.
• Master's degree in Public Health Engineering of recoginzed University or Institute or equivalent.

Experience
Ten year's experience in investiagation, design consturction and operation of water supply and sewrage installation including at least three years in rural sector with experience in desalination, defluoridation, iron removal, water harvesting structure.

Remuneration
Rs. 15,600 (PB 3) with grade pay of Rs. 7600
