Applications invited for the post of Coordinator– Water Stewardship, WWF-India, Kanpur, U.P.

Location: Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh)

Job Profile:

  1.  Coordinate the water stewardship work (which includes water risk assessments and risk mitigation planning, supply chain mapping, and so on) in Kanpur.
  2. Help develop and implement effective communications, outreach and advocacy strategy that supports the objectives of the programme
  3. Organize local level training/workshops for the identified target groups/stake holders as and when required
  4. Relationship management and networking with donors, partners, administration and other stakeholders. Preparation of field, technical and financial reports on a regular basis for secretariat, donors and partners
  5. Work closely with the cross cutting teams working on market transformation initiative, river basins and water footprint as well as represent WWF –India in related policy fora including conferences and meetings.
  6. Carry out any other responsibilities related to execution of Rivers for Life, Life for Rivers programme in Kanpur
  7. Design and administer socio-economic and technical surveys related to industrial water risks which involve collection, compilation and analysis of field data
  8. Initiate multi stakeholder platforms and liason with Government, leather industries, academic institutions, communities and others to develop solutions to address water issues

 Qualifications, Experience and competencies required:

  • Masters in Business, Economics, Environmental Sciences or any other related field; formal education in scientific or technological field would be a plus
  • 3-4 years of experience in Programme management and project implementation with respect to industrial water management issues and solutions.
  • Prior experience working with industries and government will be an advantage
  • Proven ability to interface and collaborate with internal and external partners / organisations.
  • Experience in environmental and water resource management in a multi-stakeholder set up will be an added advantage

 Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written in Hindi and English)
  • Documentation and report writing abilities
  • Ability to coordinate effectively, multitask and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work within a large and complex organization across geographical, cultural and language boundaries
  • Ability to work with a team and multiple stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to WWF-India field sites
