Integrated water resources management by industry - A case study of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Limited - Guntur
This presentation describes the work of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Limited, in organising water management efforts within and around their soft drinks plant in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh.
The work taken up involved reducing usage of water in the plant, recycling by treating waste water and reusing in plant operations, and rainwater harvesting and restoring water bodies, both in the plant and the community for replenishing the resource.
This work won the CII-GBC National Award (Beyond the Fence Category) for Excellence in Water Management in 2008.
