Water Quilt

At the heart of this effort is the Water Quilt. Binding all the communities along the way is a collective quilt, stitched out of paintings from every place visited on this trip. We request coordinators to arrange for a painting made by interested groups in the community. It could be a group of students, or members of an SHG, a club or an organization. The painting would reflect the community’s perceptions/struggles/aspirations of water through the local art.

Towards the end of the ride, all the paintings collected by Sharada will be combined to form the ‘Water Quilt’.

Why should one send a painting?

Each painting represents the fact that the particular community/individual cares for water and when combined with other painting all over India, it reflects our solidarity and unification of our spirits.

Each painting will be showcased on the portal with a detailed description about the painting, art and the individual/commmunity that created the painting.

In case you cannot meet Sharada, you can send the painting directly to Arghyam via normal post. Our postal address is as below.
