Global Indian Scientists and Technocrats (GIST) forum is a unique knowledge exchange platform for Indian scientists and technocrats spread within the country and across the world. The forum will facilitate to give a holistic approach using science & technology for creating definitive path towards sustainable development
In line with this resolution, the GIST Forum decided to hold its maiden convention on Water.
Freshwater is a critical natural resource connected inextricably with Society’s existence and needs. Demands on both consumptive and non-consumptive use of water are fast growing in India with spurt in economic activity, urbanization, industrialization and quick bridging of the gap between the haves and have-nots, while population keeps growing. All goods & services required by humanity carry a water foot-print, in the form of physically built-in quantum, or processes requiring its deployment.
The proposed convention aims to focus only on Scientific & Technological approaches and will keep away with the socio – economic – political facets of water governance.
Renowned Scientists, Researchers, Industry Professionals & Technocrats in India and abroad will present their views to have a paradigm shift towards “Scientific & Technological Approaches for Sustainable Use of Water Resource.
