Water Digest, a bi-monthly publication on water related issues, has instituted “Water Awards” for honouring distinguished work carried out in the water sector in India last year. This year, Water Digest in association with UNESCO and WES-Net India is going to award individuals and organisations for their exemplary work in the field of water.

NGOs: There are 5 awards for the NGO category: “Water Supply”, “Water Quality”, “Water Education”, “Revival of Rural Water”, “Water Harvesting”. The entry fee for NGOs is exempted to enable their participation in the event. Last date for submitting entries is 15th October, 2007. The Water Digest Awards is billed as the country’s first-ever awards in recognition of outstanding efforts and excellence by individuals, NGOs and Corporates in the field of water and water industry.

    Mr Suresh Goklaney, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Eureka Forbes Ltd. , was conferred the award for ‘Water Icon 2007′ – the top award of the event.

    Eureka Forbes also received the award in Best Domestic Water Purifier Award– The Complete Domestic Water Solutions Provider - Ultra Violet/ Ultra Filtration/ Nano Filtration/ Reverse Osmosis 2007-2008 category which reinforced its position as a market leader and an innovator.

    On receiving the ‘Water Icon 2007′ award, Mr Suresh Goklaney, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Eureka Forbes Ltd., said, “This award recognises Eureka Forbes efforts to retain its leadership position as also its pursuit of excellence in water purification. This is an award that means a lot to us at Eureka Forbes Ltd.,” he said. With the market in water purifiers undergoing changes in response to a changing array of customer requirements, Eureka Forbes has been in the forefront, with adoption of new technology, introducing new products in the market, creating eco-friendly manufacturing and production units as also taking water purification products to the customer’s doorstep by its innovative marketing and selling methods, added Mr Goklaney.

    The new UV purifier manufacturing unit in Bhimtal, Uttranchal for example is ISO 14001 certified for ecology and environment protection which supports the company’s leadership position in water purification.

    The Water Icon Award is part of the prestigious ‘Water Digest Awards 2007 – 08′ instituted by the widely respected ‘Water Digest’ that works to create awareness on critical water issues in India and to honour people and organisations that have contributed towards the cause of the water industry.

    Mr. Suresh Goklaney was conferred the Water Icon Award for 2007 after garnering the maximum votes, amongst an elite band of contestants, along with 3 other members from the industry, namely Mr. Rajiv Mittal, MD, VA-Tech Wabag, Mr. R.K. Srivastava, Director, Kirloskar Bros and Mr. Satish Chilekar, Reverse Osmosis Expert in India. Mr. Goklaney’s unstinted commitment to this cause and his relentless pursuit in bringing pure, safe drinking water to every Indian family were the key reasons for his selection.

    The awards, instituted by `Water Digest’, an international magazine, in collaboration with UNESCO and NDTV Profit, were given away by Shri Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav – Union Minister of State, Ministry of Water Resources along with Ms. Minja Yang, Director – UNESCO. Among the other dignitaries present on the dais were Shri V.N. Jha – Chairman, Central Water Board, Shri Baljeet Singh Ahuja – Chairman & Member – Central Water Commission and Mr. David Grey – Senior Water Advisor, World Bank.

    so what are the basis for so many negative reviews I raed about the aqua guard water purifier series and about its after sale service?
