As a mark of rejuvenation, a one day workshop is fixed on August 10th 2008 at Madhugiri of Tumkur district. A book on 'Culture of Talaparige' is also being released on the same day. The aim of this workshop is, to bring users of Talaparige, government representatives, media people, social workers and others on one platform to share ideas and discuss about the issue. Talapariges are unique traditional water bodies for conservation of water. They are usually seen in tank bed and above, tank command area and on the banks of big streams and rivers. These structures which have a holy cultural heritage are marching towards extinction. The book being released will cover information on Tumkur, Kolar, Chitradurga and Koppal area talaparige system.
