Bihar flood relief is tracking the work of some Bihar based groups working on flood rescue and relief currently in the area around Forbesgunj in Araria district. They have been involved in flood rescue and relief work in the previous year too. The details for donating are there at the above website. There are contact phone numbers at Patna (24 hour hotline), Bangalore and Hyderabad.  

They are asking for doctors and medical workers who will be willing to come and work at their relief camps. Click Here

Megh Pyne Abhiyan (MPA)

Megh Pyne Abhiyan (MPA) - Cloud's Water Campaign, is a functional network of grassroots organizations and professionals, has been facilitating sustainable water management practices and mainstreaming issues concerning floods in the five flood affected districts (Supaul, Saharsa, Khagaria, Madhubani, and West Champaran) of north Bihar since 2006.

The campaign partners are Gramyasheel (district); Kosi Seva Sadan (Saharsa); Samta (Khagaria), Ghoghardiha Prakhand Swarajya Vikas Sangh (Madhubani); SAVERA (West Champaran); Luisa Cortesi and Eklavya Prasad, (Development professionals).

Arghyam has been supporting MPA since its inception. Arghyam Trust is a public charitable foundation setup with a personal endowment from Rohini Nilekani and working in the water sector since 2005. Arghyam is the organisation that manages this website,  the India Water Portal. 

Contributions can be made to Gramyasheel, an NGO partner of the Abhiyan, which will then be used where felt most appropriate for flood relief. Contributions can be made to Gramyasheel’s State Bank of India accounts below.

A receipt will be sent for your donation through postal mail. However Gramyasheel is not an 80G registered organisation, so you may not be able to get tax exemption for your donation.

For many years now, GOONJ has been working extensively in Bihar through its grassroots partners, with a special focus on the annual floods. This is an URGENT APPEAL to join GOONJ in its campaign CANRAHAT FLOODS EM to provide support to the victims of this unprecedented disaster. The situation is grim and millions of people are affected by the devastation. With a wide network of organizations and people present in most of the affected districts we are confident of reaching relief at the earliest possible. While the dispatch of material has already started the relief efforts will continue for the next few months. Childline India Foundation

Childline India Foundation aims at responding to the emergency needs of every child in need of care and protection throughout the country, ensuring that there is an integrated effort between the government, non-government organizations, academic organizations, bilateral agencies, corporates and the community in protecting the rights of children.

They are collecting relief supplies at Mumbai and accepting donation by cheque. They will be working with their partner organisation NGOs in Bihar in the affected districts, in the relief camps. A description of their planned work and requirements is in the document below:
