Dates: 15 & 16 January, 2009 Synopsis This National Water Seminar is designed to bring together Government, NGOs, and people from the grass roots level to examine the complexities of providing potable water in an island environment. The three focuses of the seminar will be: - water resource development; - water quality; and - community-managed water supply systems. Experts from island nations with similar geography and water issues will also be invited to share their findings. The seminar will include a plenary session in which ways of implementing the findings will be discussed. Technical Paper Invitation The seminar is inviting technical papers that conform to the general theme of "Challenges of Providing Potable Water to the Islands." Papers must fit under one of the following topics: 1.Water resource development under island conditions 2.Water quality concern for island conditions 3.Community-managed water supply systems All paper submissions must be received by December 15, 2008. Limited Domestic Air Travel Allowance for Paper Presenters: - EHA shall seek to provide limited travel allowance (Up to Rs 15,000).
