Paul Calvert in many ways has been the pioneer with the modern Ecosan movement in India. Starting with his work in the fishing villages of Kerala and working especially with women who needed solutions for the sanitation problem there. Paul went on to designing and building the first source separation and composting toilets there. In this video at the CAPNet-organised conference on Eco-san in February 2008 in Bangalore, Paul talks about some of his early attempts at wastewater management which lead him towards ecological sanitation
