Ask A Question

India Water Portal is collaborating with the Water and Environmental Sanitation Network (WES-Net India, www.wesnetindia.org). WES-Net is a national network of professionals and agencies engaged in promoting knowledge sharing and coordination within the water and sanitation sector. Members of WES-Net, as also other partners of India Water Portal who have considerable experience in the sector will offer their advice to questions raised by the general public or sector practitioners. Others who want to offer their advice to the questions raised in this section are also welcome to do so - this can be done by adding your comments to the question.

This initiative aims to provide appropriate solutions to the issues around water and environment that the general public and practitioners are looking for.

To questioners: Before sending a question, please search the existing questions in the service, in case your question has already been answered. You can use the search box on the top-right of the Ask A Question Home Page or browse the subcategories at the bottom of the same page. When sending a question, it is necessary to be specific and concrete and provide as much detail as possible, to facilitate relevant answers. Thank you!

What kind of questions ?

The service is meant for questions related to water (of course!). Typically the kind of questions the service is meant for are specific problems that people might be facing that have factual concrete answers. Questions are welcome from practitioners as well as the general public.

Example questions:
    - "How to" questions for implementing some water project.
    - Requesting advice to solve a water-related household problem or for better water management.
    - Request for some data that you could not find on the Portal or elsewhere on the internet or offline.

The kind of questions already posted to the service should give you an idea of what kind of questions we entertain. If you have a doubt about whether your question falls within these guidelines, send it anyway ! We will let you know if we are not able to respond to it.

How the service works ?

When you post a question it will go to moderation and appear on the website after moderation. After that it would be passed on to professionals with expertise in the area, for soliciting answers.

The moderated answers with attribution will be posted to the website. In general, we will not notify you when an answer is received to your question. You must visit the Water Portal to look for updates. We expect the maximum time for getting answers will be one week. Answers are provided in good faith and neither the Water Portal nor the person who answered the question can be held responsible for any loss or other harm resulting from using the service.
